Borecole (Kale) Black Tuscany
A hardy crop that can provide nutricious leaves in the depths of winter
- rich in iron and vitamins A, C, E.

Sow thinly 13mm (0.5”) deep in a seed bed in rows 15cm (6”) apart. Thin to 7.5cm (3”) apart from March to June. Transplant to their growing positions, leaving 45cm (18”) between plants.

Start to remove young leaves from the top of the plant from September  onwards.

Sideshoots are formed after the main crown is harvested and these are ready for use from November to April; pick shoots that are 10-15cm (4-6”) long and still young.
