Broccoli Red Arrow Broccoli is a much-touted powerhouse vegetable. Broccoli is high in vitamin C, vitamin K, beta-carotenes, calcium, and iron. It also supplies significant
amounts of vitamin E, vitamin B6, and fibre.
The main sowing time is April and May. Sow thinly 13mm (0.5”) deep in a seed bed in rows 15cm (6”) apart. Thin to 7cm (3”) apart and transplant to their growing positions in June, leaving 45cm
(18”) between plants .
Cut when the flower shoots (spears) are well formed but before the individual flowers begin to open. Cut the central spear first. This is followed by a series of sideshoots
which can be picked regularly over four to six weeks
